How to make a clicky

How to make a clicky:

To make a useable link from this site here are some simple things to remember.

Click on the little link sign – it is the chain link over the planet symbol next on the right to the T with the little colour squares.

A popup window should well pop up.

It will be a box that gives you places to type stuff.

Choose type: http: ( should be set like this anyway)
Then in the 2nd line cut and paste in the URL you want to link to.
Don’t forget to make sure you don’t have http:// typed in twice. Usually I delete this one in the box already first.

Then hit okay.

Your link should appear.

It will look like a long normal link. If you are posting in COMPOSE mode you will just see your link in its full glory.

To make it pretty go into EDIT HTML mode: ( you find these tabs at the top of the comp window you type in)

This is an example or a full link

(pointy bracket here ) href="http://cgi.ebay.de/Holzkasten-gefuellt-mit-Schreibfedern_W0QQitemZ200058512234QQihZ010QQcategoryZ30719QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem" target="_blank">http://cgi.ebay.de/Holzkasten-gefuellt-mit-schreibfedern_W0QQitemZ200058512234QQihZ010QQcategoryZ30719QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem< ( close pointy bracket here) I fixed it to this: (pointy bracket here) a href="http://cgi.ebay.de/Holzkasten-gefuellt-mit-Schreibfedern_W0QQitemZ200058512234QQihZ010QQcategoryZ30719QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem" target="_blank">box of nibs ( close pointy bracket here)

And this is what you do:
The first bit is

because of the nature of this blog I have to substitute the open and close code. pointed <> brackets with an a and the close one is <>with an /a inside.

(pointy bracket here) a href=" web link">same web link (closed pointy bracket here)

To change it, keep the first bit

(pointy bracket here) a href="web link here">type the name or title here (closed pointy bracket here)

If you want to be able to open the link in a new page you can do this:

(pointy bracket here) a href="web link here" target="_blank">type the name or title here (close pointy bracket here)

Most of the time cutting and pasting your links will work but sometimes they don’t. I highly recommend you use the add link feature to create links and if you can clean them up.

If I can I will go in and clean them up but sometimes I can’t.

If you need help, let me know.

Cheers
B
