Work in progress

Hi all,
Spent much of this weekend practising calligraphy. Although it's not 100% the look / style of calligraphy I was trying to achieve, I think it will do. Well its on the goat parchment now anyway. Here's a couple of photos...
Cheers

what do you use to line it out with?

I used a pacer pencil for the guidelines - the sort you click and more lead comes out. For extra sharpness I periodically flick off the end and click more out - it comes out really sharp. Nerissa.

...unless you mean the inked flourishes? I did them afterwards with a mapping pen, also called a crow's quill. Its just a pointed nib essentially.

no I meant the pencil lines, I have all this parchmenty stuff that I got from you and one of these days I'll pluck up the courage to use it but i wanted to know if you used pencil and if you do do you erase the lines after wards and if you do that how does that effect the parchment?

I have questions....

I was also going to ask about the pen flourishes. It never would've occurred to me to switch nibs...
