world's easiest illumination

Searching through Vivarium's database of illuminated capital letters for a suitable V for my next scroll, I came across this:





Doesn't that look like something scribbled by a five year old in crayon? I love coming across examples like this in real manuscripts, because it convinces me not only can I illuminate, but I can probably illuminate well -- better than this, at least.
